To facilitate the construction of Downtown Line 1 Telok Ayer station and its associated tunnels, the Land Transport Authority will be temporarily diverting a part of Telok Ayer Street from 4am on Sunday, 17 January 2010.

Telok Ayer Street between Cross Street and shophouse Unit 101 will be closed and traffic will be diverted to Amoy Street.

With the road diversion, the following changes in traffic scheme will also take effect:

• Conversion of Amoy Street (between Cross Street and Boon Tat Street) to two-way traffic.
  


• Conversion of Boon Tat Street (between Amoy Street and Telok Ayer Street) to one-way traffic.
  


• Reversal of traffic flow along Telok Ayer Street (between shophouse Unit 101 and Boon Tat Street).

The temporary road diversion and changes in traffic scheme are expected to remain in place till June 2010.

Directional and information signs will be placed along the affected road to inform and guide motorists.
