1. To facilitate bus operations that serve the Little India area, the stretch of Hampshire Road between Rutland Road and Northumberland Road will be converted to one-way traffic towards Race Course Road on Sundays from 6pm to 11pm from 1 June 2008.

2. Currently, bus operators licensed by the Public Transport Council provide point-to-point services to foreign workers travelling between their dormitories and Little India.

3. To alleviate traffic congestion along the two-lane Race Course Road, LTA has designated several alternate coach points for these bus operators. The conversion will facilitate the use of Hampshire Road as an on-street coach point. Other coach-points for pick-up and set-down activities are also available at Bukit Timah Road, Tekka Lane, MacKenzie Road and Sungei Road.

4. Besides being an alighting point, operators will also hold their buses along the 5 coach points to pick-up the foreign workers to return to their dormitories.

5. Traffic signs will be displayed prominently to alert motorists about the new traffic scheme at Hampshire Road. Motorists from Race Course Road going towards Kampong Java Road are advised not to turn into Hampshire Road but instead to use Dorset Road and Bukit Timah Road as an alternative during the stipulated hours.
