A series of road closures affecting the Marina Centre area will take place from 23 September 2009 to 29 September 2009 to facilitate the setting up and dismantling of the race infrastructure.

2     The road closures will be implemented in phases to minimise disruption to the public. To ensure business continuity for establishments in the Marina Centre area, a limited number of pre-assigned passes have been given to the stakeholders to allow them access to their buildings via roads with restricted access control.

3     The following roads towards the city (1-way through traffic) will be opened to all commuters during morning peak hours (5.00 am - 9.00 am), from 23 September 2009 to 25 September 2009:

a) Nicoll Highway
b) Esplanade Drive
c) Republic Boulevard

d) Raffles Avenue


4     The road closures and restricted access details are as follows:

5     In addition to the road closures, on 22 September (Tuesday), two lanes of Esplanade Drive in both directions would be closed from 9.30am onwards to facilitate set up of the Connaught Grandstand. Traffic at this junction is expected to be slow moving when the lane closures are ongoing.

6     Please refer to attached map for more details.

7     For safety reasons, motorists should not stop along these roads. Motorists should obey the traffic advisory signs, electronic variable message signs and directions of the auxiliary police officers (APOs) and Traffic Police officers on duty. Enforcement action will be taken against those who violate the traffic rules.

8     Visitors to the Marina Centre area are strongly encouraged to use public transport. Traffic delays are expected during this period.

9     Members of public may contact the organisers at 6738 6738 for any general enquiries on the race or the LTA hotline 1800-CALL LTA (1800 - 2255 582) for information on the road closures.

Non Operation of ERP Gantries During Race Week

10     As the ERP gantries may interfere with sensitive video transmission equipment used for the race, the following ERP gantries that are within the proximity of the race circuit will not be in operation. Vehicles going under these gantries during the specified dates and time will not be charged:
