Car curtains cannot block view

I refer to Mr Raymund Koh Joo Guan's letter "Are curtains allowed in cars? " (My Paper, 7 May 2009).

Motorists may install curtains in cars but must know they cannot operate the car with the curtains drawn as this would obstruct the vision of the driver. When the car is in operation, it is important that the curtains be pulled back and secured so the driver's view is unobstructed, to help ensure the safety of the driver and all road users, including pedestrians.

We thank Mr Koh for the opportunity to clarify.
